Honouring Seasonal Threshold: Walk with the Goddess Through the Wheel of the Year
Honouring the Seasonal Threshold: How to Walk with the Goddess Through the Wheel of the Year
We live in a world that asks us to remain in perpetual abundant creative summer, always producing, always achieving, always in full bloom.
But the Earth does not live this way, and as women, neither do our bodies.
When we lose touch with the natural cycles, we often feel anxious, depleted, or completely untethered.
Connecting with the Wheel of the Year isn't about complex, rigid rituals.
It is about pausing at the threshold of each season to ask: What is the Goddess teaching me right now? What is my body feeling?
What are natures gifts?
Depending on where we stand on the Wheel, the face of the Goddess changes. I see the goddess as a multi faceted energy of change, holding stories that are there to guide us. She teaches us that every phase of life has a medicine.
Imbolc: invites us to dream. A huge shift begins, light brings hope and blessings for the path ahead. A time to hold the seed and dream.
Spring: Invites us to plant seeds of fresh intention, play, and embrace new beginnings. Maiden. How can we maintain balance?
Beltane: Invites new life as it now flourishes, honouring fertility of the land. The green man and may queen. Honouring nature in all her green beauty. The veil thins were close to fae.
What do you vision?
Summer Solstice: time of abundance! creativity. The mother /creatrix. The longest day. Time of the fae.
But are you in abundance in your own cycle? how is your body feeling?
Lughnasadh: the first harvest, fruits, barley, corn. Reflection. The womens phase of enchantress. Peri menopause.
Autumn equinox: second harvest, vegetables. The biggest harvest. Guides us to let go, compost what no longer serves us. Time of menopause.
Samhain: We descend into quiet rest, trust the dark. The veil thins. Time of the Crone.
Winter Solstice: Trust the dark. Learn to be with self. The time of rest. Peace. However in modern day it's also celebration, and treasuring family and friends. A connection of what's the most meaningful. I see it as ancestral connection too like samhain.
The wheel teaches us to listen to nature, to our womb, heart, nervous system. Our nervous system is connected to nature like an entity of its own. When we listen to it we can find inner balance.
Whem we connect with nature and go withon we can feel the stories and gifts of the goddess from all the lives thst have walked these lands before ud.
A 5-Minute Earth Ritual to Recenter
If you are feeling overwhelmed by the pace life, want to grow connection try this simple practice to cross back over the threshold into sacred time:
1. Go outside, even just for five minutes. If you can, place your bare feet on the grass or soil.
2. Turn to the east, listen to the Winds: Close your eyes and take three deep breaths. Let the air clear away the mental chatter of your to-do list.
Turn to the south, open your heart to the fire. Take three breath and feel the warmth in your heart. Ask what does fire and south teach me?
Turn to west. The place of sunset. Take three breaths feeling the wisdom of water that flows through you. How can water support my intuition?
5. Turn to the North. Think of earth. How can Earth show me inner strength and stability?
Then ask quietly.
What does this season want to teach me about letting go or filling up?
Is there a goddess of these lands or of my heart that can support me through this season?
Offer Gratitude: Leave a small offering, a fallen leaf, a splash of water, or simply a spoken thank you or sing a song to the land beneath you.
