Ceremony
'Ceremony augments rites of passage in our lives'
Welcome to this page. I hope my love for ceremony comes across. I offer Handfasting Ceremonies, Naming, Rites of Passage, and Pagan Funeral.
My passion is within nature based, traditional historical and pagan ceremonies.
I love creating bespoke ceremonies that reflect the lives, believes, wishes, paths of my clients.
I am very excited and lucky to be a celebrant at Butser Ancient Farm, having worked their since Beltane 2023 facilitating bespoke Handfasting Ceremonies within their Iron Age round houses at Events on site ( I absolutely LOVE it, it is a dream come true to officiate ceremonies here!).
As of 2025, I am also Celebrant at England's Medieval Festival for pre booked bespoke ceremonies, or walk in ceremonies held within beautiful medieval tents, during their incredible bank holiday weekend in August.

'A handfasting is a spell of love. The moment you decide on marriage, the spell is cast, the tying of the knot confirms it'
Lynn Bayliss
The handfasting is an old tradition. A handfasting is part of a wedding ceremony, or it can be your wedding ceremony. It brings two souls together by tying the knot, in a traditional rite.
You can also have a handfasting as a vow renewal, or in tradition an engagement.
Traditionally it was a year and a day, to see if the couple could commit.
There are other rites that can accompany it, such as jumping the besom.
I write these ceremony bespoke to you, each is unique to your wishes, your beliefs. I do my best to create the right ceremony for you.
Kind words from couples I have worked with:
Eva performed our Hand Fasting Ceremony in September 2021 at an outdoor venue in Henfield.
From first contact Eva was extremely approachable and we spent many phone calls, video calls and face to face meetings discussing how we would like our Ceremony. Eva listened to our requests and accommodated them as well as offering suggestions which we also took on to create a perfect day.
Eva is an extremely kind and thoughtful soul, she made the planning of our special day a lot less stressful and was always available to help us out. Her knowledge around alternative ceremonies is outstanding and this most definitely made the day perfect.

Naming Ceremony
£400
(costs may vary depending on location and my expenses)
A naming ceremony is a beautiful alternative to a christening. Or a meaningful ceremony to welcome a child into your family.
Namaings can also be for people wishing to own your identity, and name. there is no age limit to having a naming to honour you.
Traditionally a baby naming was performed when a baby reached one year old, to honour them as a person in life by declaring their name to all who love them, their friends, family, ancestors, and the land. Families also choose, god/ goddess/ guide / or Odd parents for their baby, people who will support and hold their baby through life when or if the parents cannot
Mother Blessing Ceremony
From £200
Plus travel expenses if travel for me is over one hour
A beautiful ceremony, created as part of the parent's preparation for birth. It is a ceremony to help empower the mum for her birth through the deep support of her friends and family,. It is important to me to include added depth of traditions and spirituality to these as this ceremony is the beginning of the mothers rite of passage to becoming a mum. Ceremonies like these are known throughout the world and have been part of cultural preparation for birth for many throughout history. These are not baby showers, as they are for nurturing the mum on her journey although they can involve acknowledging the baby's spirit too.
These ceremonies can be simple or more indepth, they can be deeply pagan or include another aspect of spirituality.
All of the ceremonies I offer are individual and created following an initial meeting and discussion with the parents becasue it has to be meaningful to the parents that the ceremony is for.
Kind Words from a previous Parent I have supported with ceremony:
Thankyou for the most beautiful ceremony it was just as I’d hope it to be… and I feel very ready for the birth and connected to the little soul inside of me.

Pagan Funeral Ceremony
£250
I aim to offer caring, heart felt ceremony to reflect the beliefs of the person who has passed. Whilst holding the hearts of the family.

'Ceremony brings the sacred into ordinary life. For tens of thousands of years, ceremonies have been universally used to help communities navigate change and welcome in new cycles. Performing ceremonies creates a bridge between the material world we live in and the world of the unseen, the divine, the power of the universe. In modern terms, ceremony opens a phone line between you and the power of the universe, God, goddess, the Creator. Through this line of connection, you can have direct communication between yourself and the spiritual forces creating a partnership to manifest your desired outcome’s a phone line between you and the power of the universe, God, goddess, the Creator. My Ceremonialist Story
My journey began, like many pagans, I was asked by friends and my sister to hold their handfasting ceremonies.
I wrote my sisters, and cried throughout officiating it! They my friend asked me, at first I said no, but my friend said she could see me holding her ceremony. A strange coincidence happened, I received a flyer through the door for 'Nature based' Celebrant training. This seemed a sign, it was in my price bracket so I agreed to write and facilitated my friend handfasting. This was in 2018. The rest is history! I LOVE ceremony.
The mother blessings grew organically when I became a Doula in 2016. Although i had attended friends rites of passage ceremonies. So I had a good idea of ceremony.
The closing and healing ceremonies have grown from my years of training with Rocio Alarcon, and also as a Shamanic Practitioner.
My life is very much about ceremony. I have now been holding handfasting ceremonies at Butser Ancient Farm during the wheel of the year, which I just love so much. It has been a dream to officiate handfasting ceremonies there. I was given the honour of taking over the Ceremony at England's Medieval Festival this year too, where I wrote and officiated 15 ceremonies, each beautiful unique and meaningful to the families that came.
I have in more recent years also had to honour of holding pagan funeral ceremonies and scattering of ashes blessing ceremony for members within my pagan community. These I take great care with, as it is a deep honour to hold. Almost like holding a delicate glass vase in your hands. I do love that pagan ceremonies within nature honouring peoples magical paths are becoming more common place now. I have found people in attendance often leave feeling connected, and inspired.
I also run a druid seed group with friends which involves honouring the sabbats, and have been a practicing Pagan for over twenty years. I LOVE ceremony! Whilst I walk what most would call a Pagan path, id say it more open and nature based. As it is more about connection to ancestors, our land, and nature.
I find ceremony opens the heart, it centres us, grounds us, its marks incredible moments that may otherwise pass us by. It enhances the transitions in life.
If you would like to talk through working with me, Ill look forward to hearing from you.
Warm blessings
Eva
